The curious incident in today’s Morning Pages session was that nothing unusual happened. It was just a normal session, with no major upheaval or release like what happened yesterday. And when I reflected on yesterday’s Morning Pages session, I couldn’t identify any specific triggers the day before that I thought would have caused such an intense session. This made me realize how important it is to do Morning Pages, or another similar journaling method, every day, because you can’t always predict when the cauldron of chaos will bubble over. But when it happens, it’s important to keep it flowing until you release as much chaos as you can.
At first I thought of the siphon analogy: When the conditions are right and the unconscious chaos is bubbling over, a particular session can keep drawing out more chaos as long as you keep it flowing. Later I realized a better image would be Mentos and Diet Coke, and published a video titled with that imagery.
