Writing practice: more imagery

[from notes written early this morning:]

Confront your fears, insecurities, doubts, lack of knowledge, limited perspective. Anything that shrinks you, confront, identify, understand, eliminate. If you are scared of confronting reality, you lose. You always lose. You must identify what is behind the fear because that’s really the reason you’re afraid.

[from notes written last night:]

Most powerful can become even more powerful by rigged system. Is it an issue of fairness or envy? Not envy, but something else? Or arrogant application of unlimited power? What is the heart of it? Victims of arrogance, denigration, and somebody feeling beyond reproach, with moral sanction and with full authority. It’s the smug self-righteousness, oppression and victimization.

The lack of intellectual integrity, but lack of moral integrity? Really, just lack of integrity. Justifying your actions by claiming you’re a victim. Integrity, doing what’s right when there’s no negative consequences for doing what’s wrong. Treating others fairly and with respect when you don’t have to. Setting a personal example through one’s behavior and conduct. It’s like the friend/enemy dichotomy where you demonize the enemy to provide moral cover. It’s cowardice not to identify the facts of reality. Acting with integrity means clearly identifying the facts of reality and doing what’s right even if you don’t have to. The right time to do the right thing is right now. It’s like privatizing the gains and socializing the losses, considering yourself a victim at others’ expense.

To be best-valued by the marketplace, constantly work to increase your value. Hone your skills, expand your capacity, improve your efficiency. A relentless focus on becoming more and more valuable.
