Writing practice: create one-line metaphors/imagery

[but first more thinking through…]

There’s a magic in being able to see something clearly, meaning to understand the true nature of something or to have a completely clear vision for something. Then everything extraneous melts away and you see the inner essence for exactly what it is.

[just try for one true sentence…]

It’s the wrong thinking that falls away. It really is that we have to be able to think clearly before we can see clearly.

And maybe a good way to see clearly is to follow that which is wrong or unsettling and work to try to understand what is the problem. That worked today in a small way for me. Maybe there’s something to that. To follow the contradiction, the misaligned interests, the friction and see where it leads and why it occurs, like pulling on a string that appears to be in a big knot but the whole knot seems to fall away if you keep pulling on the free end.

So much human effort is wasted when not being able to see, and I think it’s relatively rare. And if more people could, then their efforts would be vastly more focused and aligned.

[that’s it for today]
